Wheely Generous!


A gruelling 500-mile cycle ride in France by a team from Heald Solicitors will help create more access to sports leadership training for young people in Milton Keynes. Record Breaker For Sports Leaders UK


Sports Leaders UK celebrated a record year on April 1st with registration of the 200,000th candidate during 2008/9 - a 10% increase on last year. Take-up of Sports Leaders UK awards has grown exponentially since 2007, when we completed the first one million candidate registrations during its 25th anniversary year. The second million was forecast for the five years leading up to 2012.

Sports Leaders UK National Convention


The first ever Sports Leaders UK National Convention will be held this summer at the stadium of MK Dons in Milton Keynes. More than 300 Sports Leaders from all over Britain will attend the day-long session, which will develop leadership skills, showcase paths to further education, employment and volunteering, and allow business partners to promote their services.

SPORTS LEADERS UK VOLUNTEERING AMBASSADOR

Will the first Sports Leaders UK Volunteering Ambassador be from your region? 

Sports Leaders UK has launched the Sports Leaders UK Volunteer of the Year Award to mark the special contributions made by our Sports Leaders to their local communities. 

The volunteering award will be open to all Sports Leaders aged 14 and above who have completed at least an additional 10 hours of volunteering in their community since becoming a Sports Leader. In particular the award is focused on those Sports Leaders who have gone the extra mile to develop their leadership skills and have volunteered their time to the benefit of their local community. 

All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition, and shortlisted candidates will be invited to receive their certificates at the 'Leaders for Life Convention 2009' at the MK Dons Stadium on 4th July. 

The Sports Leaders UK Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented in front of a prestigious audience in London later on in the year, where the winner will receive the Presidents Cup and be awarded the title of Sports Leaders UK Volunteer Ambassador.
