Technical Support
I have installed the Tutor Resource onto my laptop but I
can only access the content from school and not at
home.
When installing the CD-ROM Tutor Resource onto a laptop
ensure you are connected to the internet and follow the
instructions covered in the Installation Manual. When prompted,
accept the latest update request. The update should
allow users to access the content offline.
When installing the software, please ensure that the program
has been installed to a local drive and not a networked
drive.
If you have already installed the CD-ROM, access the content
when connected to the internet and when prompted, accept the latest
update request.
If you continue to experience difficultly accessing the
purchased Tutor Resource while online, check your filter and
firewall settings.
Roaming user profiles.
If your centre uses roaming user profiles, please contact
Sports Leaders UK as an additional installation step is
required in order to run the CD-ROM. For further help and
support please contact the Customer Services Department
via 01908 689 180 or email cd-romsupport@sportsleaders.org.
If you are unsure whether your organisation operates roaming
user profiles, please check with your IT department.
I can only access Teaching Values Through Leadership and
not the qualification/s I have purchased (Proxy Server
instructions).
If the CD-ROM is not installed when the PC is
connected to the internet then the purchased qualifications won't
be accessible on the home page.
You do not need to be connected to the internet to use the
installed product but, if you want to receive any updates to the
courses or resources contained within it, then this can only happen
when you are connected.

If, you are connected to the
internet and either:
- after installing the CD-ROM you do not get prompted
to download updates.
- or, after installing the CD-ROM the 'Updates' right
hand side panel on the home page is empty.
You probably need to use a proxy
to access the internet - this is only applicable to Version 1
CD-ROM users.
In this situation you will need to run a command to
configure the proxy, please ask your IT department for assistance.
The instructions are different depending on whether you are using
Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7.
If you are on Windows XP or
Windows 2000:
Start -> choose Run and type "cmd" to bring up a command
window
In that window type "proxycfg -u" and press return.
This should import Internet Explorer's web proxy settings
and share them with other programs that use the internet.
If you are on Windows Vista or
Windows 7:
Start -> type "cmd" in the search box. This should show
"cmd.exe" in the programs list. Right click this and choose "run as
administrator". This will bring up a command window.
In that window type "netsh WinHTTP import proxy source=ie"
and press return.
This should import Internet Explorer's web proxy settings
and share them with other programs that use the internet.
Note to network
administrators:
If you perform URL-based filtering on your HTTP proxy, you
will need to enable access to all content on the following web
site:
http://ai.trp.sportsleaders.spirahellic.com/
Can the Tutor Resource software be saved on a network
(shared area)?
No, unfortunately due to the way in which the CD-ROM
operates, it is not currently possible for the Tutor
Resource software to be saved on to a network
(shared area).
However, the Qualifications that Change Lives CD-ROM can be
installed to a local drive on an individual workstation (PC or
laptop).
The software will not accept my licence key saying
'Unable to decode key'.
This can happen if the key is copied and pasted incorrectly.
Please try again copying the key supplied in email from "---
Licence for " right the way to the end of "--- End". Should the
message appear again after doing this the quickest way to solve the
problem is to restart Windows and try again. If you are still
experiencing problems uninstall the CD-ROM and reinstall. In some
cases it may be necessary to shut down the PC and
restart it if the problem continues.
Please view the question 'I can only access Teaching Values
Through Leadership and not the qualification/s I've requested
(Proxy Server instructions)' above for further
information.
