A Step By Step Guide To Running Your
Course
Apply to run the Foreign
Language Leader Award
If you decide that you want to go ahead and deliver the
Foreign Language Leader Award then simply fill in the Course Application Form and
return it to Sports Leaders UK. Once you have received
your learner Log Books you can start to deliver your
course.
Read the Tutor Resource Pack
(TRP)
Sounds obvious enough! But by reading the whole pack before you
start to plan your course, you will be able to make important
decisions regarding selecting your learners, the structure of your
course and what your expectations will be. This will give you the
confidence to run a really successful course.
Return the learner registration
details
The tear out slip at the front of each Log Book should be completed
and returned to Sports Leaders UK at the start of your course. It
is only once we have received these slips that your learners will
be formally registered onto your course.
Deliver the
course
The most successful courses are those that use the TRP
as a guide but adapt the activities and resources to suit their
learner's needs.
Assess your
learners
You will continually assess learners against the Learning
Outcomes that are laid down in the TRP. All assessment is internal
and carried out by the Tutor/Assessor, except for verification of
Unit 6 which is carried out by the Independent Assessor.
Fill in the successful Learner
Completion Form
This will be sent to you along with your Log Books at the start of
the course. Fill the form in and send/fax it back to Sports Leaders
UK.
Think about 'what next?' for your
Foreign Language Leaders
Now that your Foreign Language Leaders have completed the
course and got their certificate to prove it, what will they do
next? How will they use their leadership skills to benefit the
organisation? How can you keep them involved in leading others?
Deliver your next
course
You have done the hard work by running the course for the first
time, now you can go on to run your next ones with ever increasing
confidence.
