Teaching Values Through Leadership

In the run-up to the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, Sports Leaders UK firmly believes that all its' learners should make the link between being a Sports Leader in their community and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. In order to achieve this, learners must understand the importance of the values that underpin both their own leadership activities and the Olympic and Paralympic movement, thus resulting in learners adopting the values by which they conduct their daily lives.

It has been the intention of Sports Leaders UK to produce a teaching resource that is simple, practical, fun and easy to deliver, and that will enable learners to feel part of the spirit of the Games regardless of where they live within the UK. This resource will also enable Tutor/Assessors of all Sports Leaders UK awards and qualifications to teach the values in a practical and focused way.

The Teaching Values Through Leadership resource is free to all official organisations (for example schools, sports clubs, local authorities, voluntary organisations) and is included as a added extra on the Sports Leaders UK Qualifications That Change Lives CD-ROM.
