Mapping The National Curriculum
Subjects Across To The Young Leader Award
The Young Leader Award has not been
written into units or modules intentionally, so that its delivery
is done by learning to lead through playing games. The children
learn to play games that they would then use when leading younger
children, but the teacher has opportunity to focus on different
aspects of leadership within those games and activities.
Throughout the 'whole' approach in
delivering this award there are other subject areas that are also
touched upon and aspects of the national curriculum will be engaged
in unintentionally.
Below we have outlined certain areas that can be reflected upon
from national curriculum subjects, which might help some teachers
in their delivery and also enhance the cross-curricular themes
through subject departments.
